Chunky Academy is operated by Chunky Academy Media LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information we collect when you visit chunky.academy, how we use it, and the choices you have. We try to keep this short and direct.

What we collect

Standard server logs. Like most sites, our hosting provider logs basic information about each request: IP address, user agent, referring page, time of visit, and the URL requested. These logs are retained for a short period for security and operational purposes.

Analytics. We use a privacy-respecting analytics service to count page views, measure reading patterns, and understand which essays are being read. We do not use third-party tracking pixels for advertising on this site.

Age confirmation. If you confirm you are 21 or older, we store that fact in your browser's session storage so we don't ask again during the same browsing session. The record is local to your device; we don't see it.

Email correspondence. If you write to us, we keep your message and our reply for record-keeping. We do not add you to any marketing list without your explicit consent.

What we don't collect

  • We do not collect names, addresses, or payment information.
  • We do not run advertising on this site.
  • We do not sell or rent any data to third parties.
  • We do not use behavioural advertising trackers.
  • We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 21.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use a minimal set of first-party cookies and browser-storage entries necessary for the site to work (session storage for the age gate, preference storage for theme if any). We do not set third-party advertising cookies on this site.

Outbound links and our affiliated operator

This site occasionally links to chunkyacademy.com, the website of our affiliated craft operator. Clicking those links takes you to a separate website governed by its own privacy policy. We don't pass any personal information across the link.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), or other applicable laws — including the right to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you.
